College Assistance Program

 

Below is the By-Law change adding the college assistance program for future years.

Resolution 4 as amended to the St. Paul Men's Club By-Laws May 5, 2006

A College Assistance Program, the amount of the assistance, and its administration will be voted on each year by the membership for a St. Paul the Apostle parishioner, who is a high school graduate, to attend a post high school educational program. The amount will be up to $1,000 and will be awarded the student(s) in June of that year.

 

 

Below is the criteria which will be used if the Assistance program  is approved by the Men's Club membership.

 
bulletA notice will be advertised in the church bulletin
bulletOnly one scholarship amount will be awarded per student.
bulletScholarship to be awarded as either:
bulletThe total scholarship amount awarded to one student.
bulletEqually distributed scholarship amounts awarded to two students.
bulletThe scholarship will be awarded to the student's) in June of that year.
 
Requirements:

Applicants must be registered members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish. If the applicant is a dependent child, the parents or guardians of applicant must be registered members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish.

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior accepted to attend an post high school  educational program. An acceptance letter is required.

Applicant must complete letter of application and write an essay of two hundred words or less explaining why they should be chosen a recipient.

Consideration should be given to the following areas:

Academic achievement.
bullet
Demonstrated responsibility, courtesy, and relationship to others in the community.
bullet
Participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community.
bullet
Financial Need.
bullet
Applications must be postmarked no later than May 15th of that particular year.
